About Me

From minivans to caravans, my experience as a performer, teaching artist, and theatre administrative has given me the opportunity to travel to and connect with hundreds of communities across the country. I have found "home" on the road with shows and companies of all sizes including Nickelodeon in partnership with Cirque du Soleil, Disney Cruise Line, Walnut Street Theatre, Barter Theatre, Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble, and the national tour of A Christmas Carol.

My childhood home in Delaware County, Pennsylvania was saturated with artistic training opportunities: institutions like Hedgerow Theatre, Upper Darby Summer Stage, The Rock School, and most importantly the stage my parents set up for me in the basement where I Iip synced to Smash Mouth and Handel's Messiah with my best friend. The pipe and drape set model in my parents basement, my physical theatre and dance background, and experiences I had working front of house and behind the scenes during my training inspired me to seek out a broad spectrum of theatrical work.

I believe the responsibility of making theatre goes beyond the act of sharing a thought-provoking story. I spent a number of years touring as an actor/ASM sharing theatre for young audiences--each day building my stage before I walked on it. I sought out opportunities like this that would allow me to engage in community conversation and education as a working artist. I have led writing seminars, creativity workshops, and classroom discussions in elementary and middle schools all over New York State with The Rev, improv with high school students while on the road with Nebraska Theatre Caravan, workshopped plays and monologues written by pre-k through 12th grade students with Philadelphia Young Playwrights, music directed with Music Theatre Philly, and guided student dramaturges at Upper Darby Summer Stage.

I am currently living in New York City where I am fostering community and promoting equity and arts education through a number of organizations. I am the Membership and Communications Associate at the NYC-based theatre for young audiences organization TYA/USA, and I connect with theatre-makers from across the globe by way of my podcast Pipe and Drape, the only podcast about the creative minds behind the theatre for young audiences industry.
